LACC hosts former U.S. National Security Advisor Robert O'Brien

On March 24, 2022 the Los Angeles Consular Corps (LACC) was delighted to hold its first in-person meeting since the outbreak of the pandemic. And we were honored to host Ambassador Robert O’Brien, the former U.S. National Security Advisor (2019-2021) as our keynote speaker. The luncheon took place at the Japan House Los Angeles, hosted generously by the Consulate General of Japan and the Japan House.
The Hon. Nasimi Aghayev, Consul General of Azerbaijan and Dean of the LACC, opened the event and welcomed everyone.
Ambassador O’Brien delivered an insightful presentation on the work of the National Security Council, as well as offering his views on many foreign and security policy issues. The presentation was followed by a lively Q&A session. Then Dean Aghayev presented Ambassador O’Brien with a Certificate of Appreciation of the LACC.
The Hon. Akira Muto, Consul General of Japan, and Ms. Yuko Kaifu, President of Japan House, spoke at the luncheon.
Dean Aghayev presented Mrs Susan Azizzadeh, President of the Iranian American Jewish Federation, with a Certificate of Appreciation of LACC for her strong engagement and close cooperation with the Los Angeles Consular Corps for many years. Mrs Azizzadeh thanked the Corps for this special recognition, and expressed her determination to continue the wonderful friendship with the LACC over the time ahead.
